Mechanical tests on magnets
Test benches allowing mechanical tests on magnets:
- Compression, Tensile and Bending test to determine the stresses at break
- High temperature test up to 250 ° C
These tests make it possible to mechanically test magnets in operation when they are used on moving parts of the rotor type. It is also possible to reproduce the surrounding conditions of the temperature variation type according to the working cycle of the magnet.
CMPHY also has testing facilities for non-destructive testing of magnets: surface defects by electromagnetic methods (eddy currents, magnetic measurements), volume defects by ultrasound methods.
Other properties can also be measured such as the Curie point, electrical resistivity, mechanical moduli E and G, hardness, thermal properties (coefficient of expansion, conductivity and thermal capacity).
